Do you like to talk out your problems with a friend? Do you like to hear
other people's problems? Why do we always need to share our problems with
someone? The truth is, humans are weak. We've always known that we can't live by
ourselves. So, it's not a question that we need to share our burdens with
someone else. We want someone to feel what we're going through. And we're hoping
that that friend of ours has a way out of it, right? Whatever it takes, we want
our problems to be solved. Unfortunately, it's not every time can we find
someone who wants to hear our problems L. Well, that's the way humans are. We're
not perfect. But our Father in heaven is. He will faithfully listen to
everything we've got on our minds. He is the only one who has the way, the
truth, and the life. Of course, He knows how to solve our problems and He will
help us with them. Now, doesn't that sound good? Well, don't you want to learn
to hear God's voice? The question ishow does He talk to us? Here are a few
ways:
1.) He talks to us in audible voice. Wouldn't that be totally cool?
Can you imagine what His voice would sound like? Would it be deep like in the
movies? Although not everybody could hear His audible voice like Paul and
Samuel, there are many other ways for us to be able to hear Him.
2.) He
could speak to us through our surroundings. How? Well, let's just say we're
going to go somewhere, but on the way there, there's so many things that stands
on our way. There could be an accident or traffic jam, or something. At a time
like that we should probably ask God again if we should continue or not because
we never know what's going to happen there.
3.) God also speaks to us
through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit usually talks to us from our hearts.
Have you ever experienced that? Like, sometimes, just out of the blue, you get
this little voice or urge in your heart telling you to pray or read the bible?
That's the voice of the Holy Spirit and you shouldn't ignore it. Or you could
also be in the middle of a test and you're stuck on one problem. You know you've
seen the problem before, but you just can't remember the right answer although
you've prayed right before taking that test and all of a sudden the answer just
came to you? That's also the Holy Spirit working in us through His wisdom and
revelation that's added to us. Pretty cool, huh?
4.) So, what else? Well,
through His word of course. There are so many messages there for us and it
doesn't even matter what condition we are in. God knows exactly what we're going
through, and He provides His word to answer all of our questions.
5.) God
also speaks to us through His angels. A good example is when Gabriel visited
Mary to tell her about Jesus.
6.) Other than an angel, God could also send
one of His servants to speak to us. You've probably been there yourself. A
priest or prophet might have stepped in front of you before and revealed what
God has to say to you.
7.) Is there more? Yes, God could also speak through
dreams and visions. You may not understand what He's trying to say at first, but
He'll open up the eyes of your heart so you may understand.
So, there are a
lot of ways God could speak to us. But how do we know or be sure that it is the
voice of God and not just us making up things? That's why we must first test it.
There are multiple ways to test if what we got is from God.
1.) We could
check through His word or with the confirmation of 2 or 3 people.
2.) We
have to make sure that what we got builds our faith, teaches us, and cheers us
up. If any one of those doesn't happen, then it's not right. There is no way
that God wants to put us down or make us feel guilty right?
3.) If somebody
gave us a prophecy, one way we could check if it is right or not is by testing
that person's fruits.
4.) And, the last is by asking yourself if that answer
you got will glorify the Lord or if it will only satisfy us.
Ok, so, what if
you've been waiting for a long time for God's answer, but He hasn't answered you
yet? Well, there has got to be something wrong. What could it be?
1.) First
of all, we might still have sin in our life.
2.) Or, we might've been
disobedient to Him.
3.) We may not have love in our hearts
4.) And, we
may have doubts that God exists or that He speaks to His people. Now that would
be hard. How could we be able to hear God's voice if we doubt His existence?
Just have faith and don't even have a single doubt that He does exist and He
does speak to humans even if it's just us.
We also have to remember that God
has His own time. He will make everything beautiful in His time. So, if it's
been a long time and God hasn't answered your prayers yet, well maybe because
it is not yet time. Just keep praying and wait in faith, because He will answer
as long as it's according to His will.
